Remember it’s a massive game, and unlike most games today - there are many MANY side quests and story options. Example: at one point in the story you will have to decide who to take with you when you go after Terra. If you choose Sabin and Edgar you will learn more about their back story, but if you take Shadow you’ll learn more about his back story. Things of that nature. There are hidden characters who can join your team and NPCs who live or die based on your choices. Just take your time and enjoy :)
